Report dog attacks, roaming dogs, aggressive dogs and other animal-related concerns as soon as possible. Council investigates reports of dog attacks and provides information on responsible pet ownership, barking dogs and roaming animals.

Be prepared to provide:
- Date and time of the incident
- Location of the incident
- Description of the dog(s)
- Details of what occurred
- Owner details or address (if known)
- Witness details
For dog attack investigations, Council advises that the attack must have been witnessed, the dog or property where the dog lives must be identifiable, and the witness may be required to provide a statement and appear in court if necessary.

If there is an immediate threat to life or a serious emergency, call 000.
If you encounter a roaming dog that poses an immediate risk to people or animals, contact Hawkesbury City Council as soon as possible.
