Help Us Build the Evidence

At Pink for Leasy, we believe meaningful change begins with understanding what is happening in our communities.

While official statistics tell us how many dog attacks occur, they don’t capture the full picture. They often miss the warning signs, near misses, repeated incidents, and community concerns that occur long before someone is seriously injured.

That’s where you can help.

By sharing your experiences, you’re helping us build a stronger evidence base that can inform education, community awareness, and future legislative reform.

Every survey response contributes to a better understanding of the issues facing Australian communities.

🩷 Share Your Story: Warning Signs Survey

Why this survey matters

Dog attacks rarely occur without warning.

Communities often notice the early signs first—dogs repeatedly escaping their properties, aggressive behaviour, irresponsible ownership, inadequate containment, or concerns that are reported but never acted upon.

This survey helps us understand:

  • Common warning signs being observed in communities.
  • Whether concerns are being reported.
  • How local authorities respond.
  • Gaps in prevention before serious incidents occur.

By identifying patterns, we hope to advocate for earlier intervention and stronger preventative measures.

🩷 Share Your Story: Community Incidents & Experience Survey

Why this survey matters

Many incidents involving dogs are never captured in official statistics.

Near misses, minor injuries, attacks on other animals, and experiences that don’t result in hospitalisation often go unreported, yet they provide valuable insight into community safety.

This survey helps us understand:

  • People’s experiences with dogs in their communities.
  • Incidents that may never have been officially reported.
  • The impact these experiences have on individuals and families.
  • Areas where education, policy or community awareness could be improved.

Your experiences help us build a more complete picture of what communities across Australia are seeing every day.

How Your Responses Will Be Used

The information collected through these surveys will be analysed to identify recurring themes, trends and opportunities for prevention.

Survey findings may be used to:

  • Inform community education initiatives.
  • Support research into responsible pet ownership and dog attack prevention.
  • Identify gaps in current systems and reporting processes.
  • Strengthen proposals for legislative and policy reform.
  • Advocate for evidence-based improvements with governments, councils and other stakeholders.

Individual responses will remain confidential and will never be published in a way that identifies participants.

Every Voice Matters

Whether you’ve witnessed warning signs, experienced an incident yourself, or simply want to contribute to safer communities, your story has value.

Together, we can build the evidence needed to create meaningful, lasting change.

Your Voice. Her Legacy.
