Report a dog attack as soon as possible if you have been attacked or witnessed an attack involving a person or another animal. Council also encourages residents to report roaming, aggressive and nuisance dogs promptly so Rangers can investigate and respond appropriately. Lost and found animals can also be reported through Council's online reporting system.

Council provides information and assistance for:
- Dog attacks
- Lost and found pets
- Roaming animals
- Companion Animal Shelter enquiries

📝 Information you may need
Be prepared to provide:
- Date and time of the incident
- Location of the incident
- Description of the dog(s)
- Details of what occurred
- Owner details (if known)
- Whether the dog is still roaming
- Any photographs, videos or witness information that may assist Council's investigation
For lost or found pets, Council recommends having the animal's microchip number (if known) and a detailed description available to assist Rangers.
🚨 Emergency
If there is an immediate threat to life or a serious emergency, call 000.
If you find a roaming animal and it is safe to do so, try to contain the animal before contacting Armidale Regional Council on 1300 136 833. Council Rangers can arrange collection and assist with identifying the owner.
